Wyndham Clark Beats the Crowd
Wyndham Clark survived a brutal golf course and a hostile New York gallery to win his second US Open on Sunday. Entering the final round with a six-shot lead at Shinnecock Hills, Clark watched his massive cushion evaporate to a single stroke against a surging Sam Burns. The defining blow came at the par-5 16th, where Clark escaped deep fescue and drained a 24-foot birdie putt to halt the collapse. He finished at 4-under, grinding out a final par at the 18th to win by one.
Cool stat: Clark joins Brooks Koepka (2017, 2018) and Bryson DeChambeau (2020, 2024) as the only three active players with multiple US Open titles.
